Framework for comparing brokerage software vendors for an MT5 brokerage

About this page

This is not a feature-by-feature comparison, and it makes no claims about any other vendor’s products, pricing or customers. Those details change, and you should get them directly from each vendor, in writing and dated. What we can offer is a structured way to make the decision and a clear description of what XFIV does today.

Why brokers review their technology provider

A provider review is a normal part of running a brokerage. Common triggers include:

  • Launching a new brand or entering a new region with different language and onboarding needs.
  • Wanting a client area that answers questions directly, for example through an AI agent.
  • Needing better APIs so an internal team or partner can build on top of the platform.
  • Consolidating several tools into fewer systems, or the opposite: unbundling a suite to pick best-fit modules.
  • A contract renewal that is a natural point to test the market.

Whatever the trigger, write it down. Your reason for looking should shape how you weight each criterion below.

A scoring framework you can reuse

Score each vendor from 1 to 5 on each area, multiply by your weight, and keep the evidence that justifies each score.

Questions for every vendor on your shortlist

  1. What is the current status of each module we are considering: generally available, pilot or in development?
  2. Can you show the product working against an MT5 test server?
  3. Which parts can we adopt on their own, and which depend on other modules?
  4. How many languages does the client area support, and can we add our own translations?
  5. What controls do we have over any AI agent, and can we review what it said to clients?
  6. Which APIs, webhooks and MCP tools are documented and available today?
  7. Which hosting regions can we choose, and who are your sub-processors?
  8. What does a typical onboarding plan look like, and how long does it take?
  9. How do you handle incidents, and how will we be told about them?
  10. What remains our responsibility as the regulated firm?

How XFIV approaches MT5 brokerage technology

XFIV is a brokerage technology provider that builds five connected products for MT5 brokers. XFIV is not a broker; we provide software only. Our approach has four parts.

1. Built for MT5 first

Every XFIV product works with MetaTrader 5. XFIV Connect links to your MT5 server, and the other products use that connection, so you do not need to replace MT5.

2. A client portal with an AI agent

XFIV Portal gives your clients a branded client area with a built-in AI agent. It answers questions about accounts, balances and trading history in plain language and helps with portal tasks. It provides information, not investment advice, and you decide what it can access.

3. Open to AI assistants through MCP

XFIV Connect includes an API, webhooks and Model Context Protocol (MCP) support. Clients can connect their accounts to compatible AI assistants, with read-only access by default, broker-set permissions and an audit log of every request.

4. Modular by design

You can adopt one product or several. XFIV Trade adds a white-label web terminal over MT5, and XFIV Copy adds copy and social trading with risk controls. XFIV BrokerOS covers CRM, back office, IB and reporting.

Where XFIV may not fit

  • Your brokerage runs on a trading platform other than MT5, or you need several platforms supported from day one.
  • You are looking for a licence, liquidity, payment services or a provider that operates the brokerage for you. XFIV does none of these.
  • You are committed to another CRM, back office and IB system and do not plan to change it. In that case XFIV BrokerOS would not be a fit.

If one of these applies, XFIV may still be useful for a specific module, such as XFIV Portal or XFIV Connect alongside your existing systems, but it would not be a complete replacement.

Next steps

Share your weighted criteria with your shortlist, ask for dated written answers and insist on a demo against a test environment. If XFIV is on your list, review the products and developer documentation first, then book a demo so we can walk through your requirements.

Frequently asked questions

Does this page compare XFIV feature by feature with UpTrader?

No. We do not make claims about other vendors’ features, prices or clients. The page gives you a framework and questions to run your own comparison, and describes what XFIV offers today.

Do I have to replace MT5 to use XFIV?

No. XFIV is built to work alongside your existing MT5 setup. XFIV Connect integrates with your MT5 server, and compatibility with your build is confirmed during onboarding.

Can XFIV run alongside my current CRM or back office?

Yes. XFIV products are modular, so you can keep your existing back office while adopting products such as XFIV Portal or XFIV Connect, and add XFIV BrokerOS later if you choose.

Does the XFIV AI agent give trading advice?

No. The AI agent in XFIV Portal provides information about accounts, balances, history and portal tasks. It does not give investment advice, and the broker controls what data it can access.
